A 19-year-old Carmel man already accused of rape is now facing a second set of serious allegations, this time involving a different woman. Fresh court filings and jail records indicate prosecutors believe a second victim was assaulted, and a judge has ordered the defendant to have no contact with her. He remains in the Hamilton County Jail on a $100,000 bond as the cases work their way through the local courts.
New Felony Counts Land In Hamilton Circuit Court
According to FOX59, the latest Hamilton Circuit Court filings charge the man with sexual battery as a Level 6 felony and criminal confinement as a Level 6 felony. The paperwork also references a preliminary rape charge at the more serious Level 3 felony level. Reporters reviewed the filings, which were entered Monday in Hamilton County.
Alleged Bridge Assault And Follow-Up Text
Reviewing those same court documents, FOX59 reports the second alleged victim told investigators she agreed to meet the defendant at his house on Sept. 4, 2023. She said the assault took place under a bridge near his Carmel neighborhood. The filings further state the defendant allegedly texted her "wanna do it again" after the incident.
Online jail records list his booking time into the Hamilton County Jail as 1:57 p.m. He is being held on a $100,000 bond as the cases proceed.
Earlier Case Centers On 17-Year-Old Girl
The 19-year-old was already facing a separate rape allegation before the new charges were filed. In April 2025, he was charged in connection with a complaint involving a 17-year-old girl, according to prior local reporting. As reported by WIBC, investigators said that earlier case stemmed from an encounter in a Carmel church parking lot, which led to the initial rape charge.
Felony Levels And What Is At Stake
Under Indiana law, a Level 3 felony carries a fixed prison term of roughly three to 16 years, while a Level 6 felony carries a range of six months to two-and-a-half years, with shorter advisory terms for lesser levels, as reflected in state statutes and case law.
