Staff and police responded, and a staff member grabbed the gun and locked it away before officers arrived. Two women were later booked into the Marion County Jail, and a juvenile girl was taken to a juvenile detention facility.
How the Fight Turned Into a Gun Scare
Court documents reviewed by WTHR say surveillance footage shows both juveniles and adults fully involved in a verbal and physical scuffle, with people reaching into parked cars to grab purses in the middle of the chaos. During that scramble, a Taurus G2C 9mm handgun fell from a purse onto the ground. A staff member picked it up and secured it in her office. According to the filings, officers were called to the Victory College Prep campus around 12:50 p.m. on May 5.

Per court filings cited by WTHR, two women were arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail, while a juvenile girl was transported to a juvenile detention facility. The assistant principal told investigators that two juveniles had been suspended about a week earlier after a different physical altercation. One woman quoted in the filings responded to questions about the firearm by telling investigators she "was not that dumb." Officials will determine what charges, if any, follow as the case moves forward, according to investigators.
