Officers say a man fired multiple rounds both inside and outside the convenience store, then left the scene. No one was seriously hurt, and the store reopened to customers after officers finished clearing the area.
In a press release shared on the Plainfield Police Department Facebook page, officials said the suspect retrieved a pistol from a vehicle in the GetGo parking lot and then discharged the weapon several times, including in the store restroom. The release also noted a minor vehicle crash in the parking lot as everything unfolded and said witnesses and store staff cooperated with officers as they processed the scene.
