A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection with an April shooting that left a 22-year-old man dead on the northeast side of Indianapolis, according to police. The suspect, identified as Terrence Francois, was taken into custody after detectives tracked him down. The victim was identified as 22-year-old Robert Golliday.
Investigators with IMPD's Violent Crimes Unit located Francois in the 8200 block of Spyglass Drive. Detectives say he tried to run before officers caught him, and jail records list a preliminary charge of murder. Those details were reported by Fox59. Officials have not released any information about a possible motive or whether any weapons were recovered.
How the shooting unfolded
IMPD says officers were called to the 5900 block of Radnor Road just before 7:30 p.m. on April 15 for a report of a person shot. WRTV reports that when officers arrived, they found Golliday with gunshot wounds and that he later died from his injuries. Investigators say the case remains active as detectives continue processing evidence and following up on leads.
Family reaction
Golliday's mother told reporters she believes her son "was betrayed by a close friend," a comment that underscored the family's shock over his killing, Fox59 reported. Relatives have not shared additional public statements about the investigation or funeral plans.
What police are asking
Investigators are urging anyone with information about the case to contact Detective Jordan Agresta at 317-327-3475 or by email at [email protected], according to WRTV. IMPD says tips from the public can help strengthen the case as detectives prepare evidence for prosecutors.
Francois remains in custody while the investigation continues and prosecutors review the file. Police are again asking anyone with information to come forward or submit an anonymous tip through IMPD's tip line.
