Amazon is packing up its temporary WeWork digs in the Gulch just as its shiny new Nashville Yards campus starts to carry more of the load for the company’s local workforce.
Church Street Was The Bridge
According to CoStar, Amazon is expected to vacate the WeWork-backed space it has been using at Asurion's Gulch headquarters on Church Street. That temporary setup at 1101 Church St. followed the tech giant’s move to take nearly 100,000 square feet there through a sublease, as the Nashville Business Journal reported in May 2025.
A release from Nashville Yards said Amazon has started interior work on its second tower and leased a full floor in the development's CAA building, with occupancy targeted for 2026 at 201 Platform Way N. That gives the company a more permanent downtown base than any flexible coworking deal can offer.
Amazon's Nashville fact sheet says the company now has 15 facilities across the metro and continues to frame its downtown office investment as part of a long-term plan for 5,000 corporate and technology jobs. That broader footprint helps explain why a temporary Church Street arrangement can finally be retired.
The office market has already felt the Amazon effect. Cushman & Wakefield said the company's 90,951-square-foot move-in at Asurion's headquarters helped drive Midtown vacancy lower in the third quarter of 2025, and Amazon's Yards buildout was already reported last year as reshaping the downtown map. Midtown brokers will be watching closely to see who backfills the Church Street space.
