An early-morning ride on the Green Line turned violent in Bronzeville on Saturday, and Chicago police say they need the public’s help to find the man responsible.
The attack happened shortly after 5 a.m. on the Green Line platform in the 0–100 block of East 35th Street, at the Bronzeville station, according to authorities. A rider was injured, and the suspect bolted from the platform before later turning up on station surveillance footage.
Police release surveillance and suspect description
The Chicago Police Department described the suspect as an African American man wearing a green shirt, gray pants, black shoes and carrying a backpack. Anyone with information is asked to contact Public Transportation Detectives at 312-745-4447 or submit an anonymous tip at CPDTIP.com using reference number JK337838, as reported by CBS Chicago. Investigators say they are reviewing the video and following leads to identify the person pictured.
