The fog is expected to thin by midmorning, but it is the heat later this week that will pack the bigger punch.
Morning Fog, Low Rain Chance
Patchy fog will lift through the morning, although bridges and low-lying neighborhoods could see reduced visibility during the commute, so it is worth building in a little extra travel time. Rain chances stay low today, roughly 20 to 30 percent, but a few isolated downpours are possible tonight and Monday where storms manage to pop.
Heat Builds Monday Into Tuesday
Temperatures climb into the mid 90s today, then into the upper 90s on Monday, July 27, 2026, and Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Heat index, or feels-like, readings will push into the 100s, with forecast values showing the heat index topping 110°F in some spots on Monday. The National Weather Service says a Heat Advisory is increasingly likely for much of Middle Tennessee on Monday and perhaps again Tuesday, with the most intense heat expected west of the Cumberland Plateau.
