
A violent motorcycle crash at a Lebanon intersection on Monday left a local woman dead and the rider fighting for his life after the bike slammed into a utility pole and trapped both of them against it.
Crash At SR 39 And Anderson Lane
According to the Lebanon Police Department, a single-vehicle motorcycle collided with a utility pole at the intersection of State Road 39 and Anderson Lane on Monday. Both people on the bike were pinned between the motorcycle and the pole and had to be freed by rescuers.
Police identified the passenger as Nicole C. King of Lebanon and the driver as Larry T. Lane. Both were rushed from the scene to the hospital in what authorities described as emergent transports.
Rescue And Hospital Transport
Lebanon Fire Department crews worked the scene alongside the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Whitestown Police and Witham medics, while dispatchers called in air-medical support. Witham Health Services’ Lebanon hospital received both patients for emergency care.
St. Vincent StatFlight serves as the region’s air-medical provider for critical cases. Witham Health Services highlights the hospital’s emergency services, while AirMed&Rescue notes the local use of StatFlight for critical transports.
Investigation And What Officials Are Asking
Lebanon police said passenger Nicole C. King was pronounced dead at Witham Memorial Hospital. Driver Larry T. Lane was then flown by air ambulance to an Indianapolis-area trauma hospital and remains in critical condition.
The crash is still under investigation. A multi-agency crash team was called in to process the scene, according to the Lebanon Police Department.
