A man was taken to the hospital Thursday night after reports of a fight at a building along Northwest 57th Avenue near Seventh Street in Miami. Detectives are working to determine whether the man fell or was thrown from what police say may have been a third-floor window.
City of Miami police and Fire Rescue units responded just after 8 p.m. Thursday, and paramedics transported the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital in unknown condition, according to WSVN. Video published with the station's report shows the patient being wheeled into the hospital.
Police Working To Untangle What Led To The Fall
Investigators are still trying to piece together how the incident unfolded. "Detectives are attempting to determine where the victim was thrown or whether he fell from what might have been a third-floor window," WSVN reported. Officers interviewed nearby witnesses as the inquiry continued, and authorities had not released the victim's identity or the exact circumstances that led to the fall.
Taken To A Level I Trauma Center
The man was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, home to the Ryder Trauma Center, which Miami-Dade County describes as its only Level I trauma center and a regional hub for critical injuries, according to Jackson Health System. Police say the investigation is ongoing and additional details were not immediately available.
