An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left one person wounded on Indianapolis' northwest side, according to police. The gunfire broke out on November 4, 2023, and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Officers responded after reports of shots fired in the area and later detained a suspect.
According to WTHR, IMPD said the victim was shot while inside a vehicle on Covered Bridge Road near Oakwood Trail. Investigators arrested an 18-year-old suspect, who was booked into the Marion County Jail. The station reported that police again emphasized the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening and noted that the case remains very much open. Officers have asked anyone who knows more to contact Crime Stoppers or IMPD dispatch.
Where the shooting occurred
The shooting was reported on Covered Bridge Road near Oakwood Trail, a largely residential stretch on the city’s northwest side.
