Greenwood’s drink game just leveled up. Swig, the Utah-born chain credited with fueling the "dirty soda" craze, has opened a new shop in town this week, pouring customizable sodas, fruit refreshers and optional boba. The Greenwood location is touting more than 1 million possible drink combinations, plus a lineup of sweet treats like pink-frosted sugar cookies and chilled mini chocolate chip cookies. It is the latest quick-serve beverage stop to land on the south side of the Indianapolis metro.
New Greenwood Shop
The company quietly made it official on social media. LinkedIn posts confirmed that the West Greenwood shop opened "last Friday," following weeks of hiring buzz. Job boards lit up ahead of the opening, including a listing on Harri advertising shift-lead roles while the store was getting ready for customers.
Once you are at the counter, it is a build-your-own situation. Team members and customers describe the menu as starting with a soda or refresher base, then layering on creams, purees, syrups, fruit and boba pearls. Reese, a team member quoted by WISH-TV, broke down one drink by saying "it’s got our vanilla syrup, it’s got our coconut cream." That coverage also spotlights some of Swig’s signature creations, including the Texas Tab, the Shark Attack, the Ring King and the Dirty Little Secret.
Brand Roots And Menu
Swig’s story starts far from Indiana. The company launched in St. George, Utah, in 2010 under founder Nicole Tanner, who helped popularize the "dirty soda" trend, according to KSL. Over time, Swig has built its menu around three core drink categories, listed as Dirty Sodas, Refreshers and Revivers, along with a rotating sweets lineup on its official site. Swig also publishes its signature drinks and treats there, plus a store locator that helps fans track down the nearest shop.
More Indiana Openings Planned
Indiana is not getting just one sip of the brand if everything goes according to plan. Franchisees told WISH-TV that Swig expects to open additional Indianapolis-area locations soon, with planned sites in Fishers, on Michigan Road and in Schererville. If those stores open on schedule, they would extend Swig’s presence across suburbs surrounding Indianapolis.
