A 19-year-old Anderson man is facing six felony counts after investigators accused him of using online identities to contact two children and engage in sexual conduct with them. The allegations involve Snapchat, Pinterest, nude images and repeated attempts to build relationships with the victims.
The case became public Monday after court documents reviewed by Fox 59 detailed the investigation into J’von Hopson. Authorities say Hopson was arrested in May and later taken to the Madison County Jail.
According to the court paperwork, one victim met Hopson through a friend who had connected with him on Snapchat. Investigators allege Hopson identified himself as a 14-year-old named Joshua Zeuss, sent the victim nude videos and images, and contacted the victim’s mother while using a different name.
The documents describe a separate series of allegations involving another child who reportedly met Hopson on Snapchat under the same pseudonym in 2025. Hopson allegedly took that victim to a park and other secluded locations, molested the child and attempted to sexually assault the victim on multiple occasions.
Investigation Began With Report At Anderson School
Anderson Police Department officers were dispatched to Anderson Intermediate School on May 26 after receiving a report of a rape, according to the court documents. The two victims were scheduled for forensic interviews on June 4, and investigators later located messages allegedly sent by Hopson on Pinterest.
When questioned, Hopson denied the allegations, the documents state. Investigators also quoted him as saying he wanted to start relationships with the victims, while he allegedly made statements indicating he had no regrets about the conduct.
Hopson Faces Six Felony Counts
The charges include child molesting as a Level 3 felony, child molesting a child under 14 as a Level 4 felony, promotion of child sexual trafficking as a Level 3 felony, child solicitation as a Level 5 felony and two counts of disseminating matter harmful to minors as Level 6 felonies. The offense classifications are part of Indiana’s current criminal code, maintained by the Indiana General Assembly.
Hopson has not been convicted, and the allegations must be proven in court. The case remains in the criminal court process in Madison County, where additional hearings and filings are expected.
