Heat Builds Through Wednesday
Temperatures will dip only to around 72 degrees Monday night under partly cloudy skies. Tuesday is forecast to reach 96 degrees, with heat index values as high as 102, while Wednesday could climb to 97 degrees under sunny skies.
Southwest winds will generally stay between 3 and 12 mph Monday, with gusts up to 18 mph. The National Weather Service's Indianapolis office says increasingly hot and humid conditions are expected through the middle of the week, with heat advisories potentially needed if the forecast holds.
Storm Chances Return Late Week
Thursday will remain hot, with a high near 96 degrees and only a slight chance of rain. Showers and thunderstorms become more likely overnight Thursday and Friday, when the chance of precipitation rises to 30% and temperatures reach about 92 degrees.
The pattern turns cooler for the weekend, with a high near 88 degrees Saturday and 86 degrees Sunday. Saturday could still bring an isolated shower or thunderstorm, but Sunday is expected to be sunny; no watches, warnings or advisories are currently in effect.
