Foster City is turning its annual Summer Days celebration into a giant game of hide-and-seek, with 55 rubber ducks tucked around Leo J. Ryan Park. Finders can score a small prize and a shot at the festival’s grand prize.
The City of Foster City announced that participants should search the festival grounds, then bring any ducks they find to a staff member at the information booth near The Vibe Teen Center. The hunt also includes an extra raffle entry for people who post a photo and tag @fcrecreation.

How The Foster City Duck Hunt Works
The scavenger hunt is replacing Foster City’s Rubber Ducky Races this year because construction has changed the park setup. The Summer Days site lists the festival for August 14-16 at Leo Ryan Park, with free admission and separate tickets required for carnival rides.
Duck turn-ins are scheduled from 10 AM to 5 PM on August 15 and from 10 to 11:30 AM on August 16. The larger raffle winner is expected to be announced on social media on August 16, giving the tiny plastic birds a surprisingly consequential weekend.
What Else Is Happening At Summer Days
Summer Days is Foster City’s fourth hosting of the community festival, which debuted in 2019. The weekend will also feature carnival rides, craft and community booths, food and beverage vendors, and live entertainment.
The City of Foster City says Mercy & the Heartbeats will headline the August 14 kickoff from 6 to 8 PM in the amphitheater. Visitors should also expect temporary closures on parts of Shell Boulevard and Balclutha Drive, while the festival’s planning page lists $10 parking at Parkside Towers and Century Lot and complimentary bike parking on August 15 to 16, per the Summer Days site.
