Storms Arrive Around Midday
The temperature should climb only to about 78 degrees, with a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms Wednesday. The best chance for storms comes from noon through the evening, when a few cells could bring heavy rain, gusty winds or hail.
The National Weather Service says the Flood Watch runs from 2 p.m. Wednesday through Thursday morning. Central Indiana could see 1 to 3 inches of rain through tonight, with locally higher totals possible if thunderstorms repeatedly track over the same areas.
Flooding Risk Builds Into Tonight
Showers and thunderstorms are likely between 7 p.m. and midnight, followed by additional showers and patchy fog overnight. Low temperatures should settle near 66 degrees, while another three-quarters to 1 inch of rain could fall in some locations.
Residents should avoid driving through water-covered roads and keep an eye on low-lying areas, creeks and drainage trouble spots. The updated flood threat is a more immediate turn from Hoodline's earlier Indy storm outlook, which focused on a different late-week system.

Thursday should bring patchy morning fog followed by mostly sunny skies and a high near 80 degrees. Friday looks even calmer and sunnier, with a high near 81, before a 30% chance of afternoon storms returns Saturday.
By Sunday, Indianapolis should dry out again under mostly sunny skies, with a cooler high near 77 degrees. The early-week outlook remains generally quiet, with mostly sunny conditions and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
