Rain chances are around 30% Friday, with activity most likely from late morning through the afternoon as storms form near the East Coast and push inland later. Stronger cells could bring brief heavy downpours, frequent lightning and gusty winds, making beach trips, outdoor workouts and afternoon errands a little more complicated.
Storm Chances Rise Into The Weekend
The forecast turns noticeably wetter Saturday, when Miami faces a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high near 89. Saturday night brings a 70% rain chance, followed by another 50% chance Sunday and warm overnight lows in the low to mid-80s.
The trend is a sharper update to the stormy setup previously outlined by Hoodline, with rain chances staying elevated through next week. Monday through Thursday are forecast to bring highs near 89 to 90 and daily shower and thunderstorm chances around 60%.
Heat Sticks Around Between Storms
According to the National Weather Service Miami office, the wet pattern could produce heavy rain, lightning and locally strong wind gusts across South Florida. The strongest storms may also bring gusts of 40 to 55 mph or small hail, while heavier rainfall could be more concentrated across interior and southwest Florida.
No watches, warnings or advisories are listed for Miami. Boaters can expect generally manageable conditions outside of storms, but sudden rough seas and hazardous winds are possible near any thunderstorm, so outdoor plans should include a quick route to shelter when thunder rolls in.
