Triple-Digit Heat Builds Through Sunday
Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high near 100 and a southwest wind around 5 mph. Friday should be sunny and slightly hotter at 101, followed by 102 Saturday and 103 Sunday; overnight lows will stay mostly in the mid to upper 70s, offering limited relief.
Storm Chances Stay Low, But Not Zero
Rain chances are sparse through the weekend, with isolated showers or thunderstorms possible Thursday and little storm activity expected Friday through Sunday. Any storm that develops could bring a brief heavy downpour or gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service Nashville.
Heat Advisory Calls For Extra Care
The advisory includes Davidson County and much of Middle Tennessee through 7 p.m. Sunday. Residents should drink plenty of fluids, use air conditioning when possible, avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, and check on relatives and neighbors.
Some Relief Arrives Next Week
Monday remains hot near 101, with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Temperatures ease to around 96 Tuesday and 97 Wednesday, while storm chances rise to about 30% Tuesday before skies turn sunnier Wednesday.
