The National Weather Service expects another jump tomorrow, with a high near 92 after some early haze, followed by the warmest day of the stretch next Monday at about 93. Next Tuesday should remain hot near 91 before temperatures ease slightly into the upper 80s later in the week.
Afternoon Heat Comes With A Drying Trend
The inland South Bay is facing Moderate HeatRisk through the early part of next week, especially during the afternoon. Dry air and low humidity will add to the fire danger, with the driest interior areas potentially dropping into the teens or even single digits during the day.
Residents planning outdoor work or exercise should take breaks, drink water and avoid anything that could create a spark. The National Weather Service says elevated fire-weather conditions may continue into next week as warm temperatures, dry fuels and afternoon breezes line up across the region.
The Coast Offers Relief But Not A Free Pass
Those looking for cooler temperatures can head toward the coast, where highs should generally range from the 60s to the 80s. But a Beach Hazards Statement remains in effect through this afternoon, with sneaker waves, strong rip currents and breaking waves reaching up to 10 feet at some south- and southwest-facing beaches, including parts of Santa Cruz and Pacifica.
Beachgoers should stay near lifeguards when possible, keep away from jetties and shoreline rocks, and never turn their backs on the water. Sudden larger waves can arrive after long calm-looking stretches, making the ocean more dangerous than it appears.
The Week Stays Mostly Sunny
Next Monday is expected to be the peak of the warm spell, followed by highs near 91 next Tuesday, 88 next Wednesday, and 89 next Thursday and Friday. Overnight lows should remain relatively comfortable in the low 60s, but no meaningful rain is expected through the end of the forecast period.
The hotter, windier setup is a sharper turn from the more moderate conditions Hoodline tracked in its earlier San Jose forecast. For now, the weekend message is straightforward: sunny skies, rising heat and extra caution around flames and the surf.
