Two people caught on video rolling an orange scooter away before dawn are now the focus of a New Orleans police search, and the ride is still missing. The Wolf EX 150 could be worth nearly $2,000, according to investigators.
According to WGNO, the theft happened around 1:30 a.m. on July 24 in Tremé. Police say two suspects were recorded removing the scooter without permission, and the New Orleans Police Department has released images of both the suspects and the orange vehicle.
Potential Penalty Reaches Five Years
Under Louisiana's motor-vehicle theft law, taking a vehicle valued at $1,000 or more but less than $5,000 can carry up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $3,000, or both, according to the Louisiana Legislature. That does not mean anyone has been charged in this case, and any eventual legal classification would depend on the investigation and prosecutorial decisions.
The scooter remains unrecovered, and police are asking anyone who recognizes the suspects or knows where the Wolf EX 150 may be located to come forward. Anonymous tips can be submitted to CrimeStoppers at 504-822-1111, the station reports.
New Orleans Police Have Investigated Similar Two-Wheeled Thefts
In July 2025, NOPD also sought public help after a 2020 Kymco Spade 150 motorcycle was reportedly stolen from a North Hennessy Street block, as detailed by Hoodline. That was a separate case involving different allegations, but it underscored the value of distinctive vehicle descriptions and surveillance images in tracking down suspects.
No arrests have been announced in the Tremé scooter case. For now, investigators are hoping someone can turn the released images or the conspicuous orange scooter into the lead that gets the case moving.
