A man accused in a triple shooting at the corner of Reading Road and Hutchins Avenue in Cincinnati's Avondale neighborhood was arraigned. Lysias Yarbough is accused of shooting a victim at that intersection on June 6, while two other people were also wounded in the same incident.
According to Local 12, Yarbough is accused of shooting one person in the incident. Cincinnati Police had initially sought one or more suspects after three people were injured in the neighborhood on the day of the shooting, per LOCAL 12's coverage from June 6.
What Yarbough Could Face If Convicted
Yarbough's alleged role puts him in the crosshairs of some of Ohio's toughest violent-crime statutes. Under Ohio Revised Code § 2903.11, felonious assault involving a deadly weapon is a second-degree felony punishable by two to eight years in prison and fines up to $15,000, according to the Botnick Law Firm. A conviction carrying a firearm specification would add a mandatory, consecutive three-year prison term on top of any underlying felony sentence, the firm's analysis notes.
Court records referenced in the case also point to stolen vehicle and firearm allegations. Under Ohio law, receiving or retaining stolen property can carry felony penalties, while stolen motor vehicles or firearms may be subject to enhanced penalties, according to the Wieczorek Law Firm. The alleged offenses include felonious assault and stolen-property violations.

The case lands amid broader movement in the city's violence statistics. Cincinnati Police Department crime data showed a 25% decrease in homicides compared to 2025 levels, according to FOX19 NOW.

Hamilton County authorities have also handled a shooting in Colerain Township in which one person was hospitalized.
