Castro queer mall and screen print shop Fave (329 Noe Street) has announced it will shutter after less than three years in the neighborhood.
Owner Danae Lintz shared news of the closure in a note posted in the store's window. Fave's last day will be September 26.
Fave opened in April 2024 in the former Great Tan space, which closed in 2021 after 38 years in the Castro.
"We loved our time in the Castro — printing your orders, hosting events, and showcasing incredible queer art," said Lintz.

Lintz tells Hoodline that foot traffic in the area was insufficient to keep the store open. Additionally, Lintz said, "The rent was too high for the sales we were doing."
Fave offered customers handmade apparel and a screen print shop.
Lintz also rented out space inside the shop to other artists to sell their products, hosted classes, and community events inside the store.

"Fave will be a screen print shop and queer mall that hosts my brand Fave as well as other local queer artists," said Lintz at the time of the store's opening.
Lintz got her start in the Castro and built up a following by selling her apparel outside the Castro Street public parking lot.
"We're closing this space to focus on what we do best: creating fun wearable art for queers," explained Lintz.

Lintz says that screen printing services will move to 1 Avenue of the Palms on Treasure Island while Fave merchandise will still be available online.
Customers can take advantage of a closing sale in the last few weeks of the shop being open. Fave Brand merchandise is not included in the sale.
"Support the artists who filled these walls — every purchase is a thank you to them," added Lintz.
A current listing indicates the entire building is for sale. The two-story, approximately 3,000-square-foot space is listed for $1.595 million.
