Chicago woke Thursday to cloudy skies, with afternoon highs forecast in the upper 60s to lower 70s away from Lake Michigan and in the mid-60s along the shore. East winds around 10 mph may still give the lakefront a noticeably cooler feel.
Lakefront Advisory Winds Down Thursday
A Beach Hazards Statement remains in effect for the Illinois shoreline until noon Thursday, according to the National Weather Service Chicago office. Anyone heading near Lake Michigan should use extra caution around piers and the water.
The calmer forecast is a shift from Wednesday's more hazardous lakefront setup, which Hoodline previously covered. Winds diminish below 10 knots Thursday evening.
Cool And Mostly Dry Weekend Ahead
Friday should bring at least some sunshine, with a high near 65. Saturday brings partly to mostly cloudy skies and a high near 65, while Sunday looks partly to mostly cloudy with temperatures reaching about 67.
Rain chances remain minimal through the weekend, with modest east-northeast surface winds. Early next week, temperatures turn more seasonable.
Rain Chances Rise Later Tuesday
Precipitation chances increase later Tuesday into Wednesday, though the forecast remains uncertain.
