Warm, Mostly Dry Through Thursday
Wednesday should stay partly sunny with south winds around 5 to 8 mph. A few patches of fog are possible early, though dense fog is unlikely, and the National Weather Service expects dry conditions for most of the day. Thursday remains partly sunny and unusually warm, with southwest winds increasing and gusts potentially reaching 22 mph.
Rain Arrives Thursday Night
Showers are possible Thursday evening, with thunderstorms becoming more likely after 8 p.m. Roughly a quarter- to half-inch of rain is possible overnight.
Friday brings a 75% chance of showers, a mostly cloudy sky and a much cooler high near 70. Rainfall could total up to half an inch, although no watches, warnings or advisories are currently posted.
Sunny Weekend Brings A Fast Temperature Drop
Once the front clears Friday night, the forecast dries out quickly. Saturday should be mostly sunny with a high near 68, followed by a mostly sunny Sunday near 70.
The cooldown continues next week, with much cooler conditions early in the week. Some portions of central Indiana could see lows in the 30s.
Outdoor Plans Get One Last Warm Window
Wednesday and Thursday afternoon look like the best windows for outdoor plans, though Thursday's stronger wind could make some events feel breezier than the thermometer suggests. Drivers and pedestrians should be ready for wet roads and reduced visibility Thursday night into Friday, followed by a much more jacket-friendly weekend.
The timing is a sharper update to Hoodline's earlier Indianapolis forecast: the storm window is now concentrated Thursday night and Friday, with a more pronounced cool-down arriving immediately afterward.
