Wednesday night will stay mostly clear, but relief will be limited, with a low around 77 and heat-index values as high as 102. Thursday will bring another sunny day near 96, with the heat index reaching about 103 and light southwest winds.
Storm Chances Build Into The Weekend
Rain chances remain minimal through Thursday, then increase Friday, when Indianapolis has a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high near 93. Saturday looks slightly cooler at 90, but the chance of showers and thunderstorms rises to 40%.
Forecasters say any storms that reach central Indiana late Thursday into the weekend could bring damaging wind gusts, although the timing and exact coverage remain uncertain. By Sunday, temperatures should ease back to the mid-80s under mostly sunny skies, with similar conditions expected for Labor Day.
