A man was hospitalized in critical condition after a vehicle struck him Wednesday morning near Southeastern Avenue and E. Pleasant Run Parkway North Drive on Indianapolis's near east side.
According to Fox 59, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported that emergency responders were dispatched around 6:50 a.m. Wednesday to the intersection. Southeast district officers arriving on scene found the man lying in the road, and he was subsequently taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene afterward and cooperated with investigators, as noted by Fox 59. The driver also showed no immediate signs of impairment, per the same account, though the crash itself remains under investigation.
