A man was left in critical condition after being shot on Indianapolis' near east side early Friday morning, according to police. Officers were called to the 4800 block of East Washington Street near Emerson Avenue after receiving a report of a person shot around 6:23 a.m.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to that stretch of East Washington Street near Emerson Avenue, as first reported by WRTV. Officers arriving at the scene found the male victim suffering from gunshot injuries. He was rushed to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
One Person Detained as Investigation Continues
