A man wearing a Notre Dame long-sleeve shirt, black shorts and a black stocking cap allegedly assaulted a store clerk and ran off with cash from the register during an armed robbery on Anderson's east side Wednesday night. The Anderson Police Department is still searching for him, and no arrests have been made.
Officers responded to the report of an armed robbery in the 2000 block of Mounds Road last night, according to a news release cited by Fox 59. The suspect reportedly assaulted a store clerk before taking an undisclosed amount of cash and fleeing the store on foot, per the same account. Officers reportedly established a perimeter in an effort to locate the man, but he was not found, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Police described the suspect as wearing white tennis shoes and black socks along with the Notre Dame shirt, shorts and stocking cap, the outlet reports. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Anderson Police Department at 765-648-6731.
