A 74-year-old South Bend woman with dementia who prompted a statewide Silver Alert has been found safe, according to police. Carmen Granado was last seen in South Bend at 2 p.m. Thursday, and within a day authorities confirmed she had been located.
The South Bend Police Department announced the update Friday afternoon on Facebook, writing, βCarmen has been located and is safe.β The department had earlier described Granado as having dementia and other health issues, per the South Bend Police Department.

What Authorities Said When Granado Went Missing
When the Silver Alert was first issued, officials said Granado was believed to be in extreme danger and might require medical assistance, according to abc57.com. That station later confirmed the alert had been cancelled once Granado was found safe.
Granado was described as a 74-year-old Hispanic woman who is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes, the report notes. At the time she disappeared, she was last seen wearing a floral print shirt, red skirt, black leggings and black shoes, and carrying a floral print cane.
