The weather was clear and the pavement was dry at the time, according to police. The man's identity has not been released.
The crash happened at approximately 5:33 a.m. on State Road 5, just north of County Road 1000 South, according to WOWO News. The Journal Gazette reports the Whitley County Sheriff's Department announced the man's death in a news release, noting he had been traveling north before he drove off the road.
