A woman and a man were shot while sitting inside a vehicle in Chicago's Roseland neighborhood Saturday evening, leaving both wounded but expected to recover. Police say multiple unknown men walked up to the car and opened fire before disappearing into the night.
The shooting happened at about 5 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of East 104th Street, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Chicago police reported that multiple unknown men approached the vehicle and fired shots inside it before fleeing the scene.
A 38-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, while a 35-year-old man was struck in the arm, per the same report. Both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and were listed in good condition.
Detectives Still Searching for Shooters
Chicago police detectives are investigating the shooting and are searching for the unknown men believed to have opened fire on the vehicle, the outlet's report notes. No further details about the attackers have been released.
Roseland has seen violent gun crime before. A separate shooting in the neighborhood in 2024 left a 30-year-old man dead, and that case was ultimately ruled a homicide, according to a Chicago Sun-Times report from that year.
No arrests have been announced in Saturday's shooting, and the investigation remains active.
