Exhibit A Plastics marked the opening of its newly built manufacturing facility on the north side of Bainbridge this week with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house, celebrating a move that kept the company's local workforce intact while expanding its production capacity. The injection-molded plastics manufacturer held the event Oct. 22 at its new address, 7338 N. CR 200 East, roughly a year after breaking ground on the site.

According to the Vincennes Sun-Commercial, co-owners Tom Goode and Tom Jackson broke ground on the facility on Oct. 24, 2025, and Jackson noted the grand opening landed almost exactly one year later. The company makes injection-molded plastic products for a handful of regional clients, including parts supplied to Heartland Automotive for the Subaru plant in Lafayette and components for Victory Way Sports, which produces collectible plastic helmets used to serve concessions at sporting events.

A Move Driven By Necessity, Not Just Growth

The new Bainbridge plant replaces a leased building in Coatesville that Exhibit A Plastics had occupied for years, though reports differ on exactly how long: the same outlet quoted Jackson as saying the company had leased the Coatesville space for 24 years, while an earlier report on the groundbreaking cited a 23-year figure. The company relocated after the building's new owner decided to take the property in a different direction.

Jackson said preserving jobs was central to the decision to build rather than simply close up shop. “We didn't want to un-employ forty people,” he said, according to the Sun-Commercial's account of the ribbon-cutting. The move effectively let the company carry its existing workforce into a larger, purpose-built space rather than scrambling to find a comparable lease elsewhere.

Hiring Push Follows New Equipment

Staffing figures reported around the opening were not entirely consistent. The grand-opening coverage put current employment at 36 workers, with the company interviewing community candidates in hopes of reaching 40, while an earlier report on the project pegged the workforce at 31 employees working toward that same 40-person goal. Either way, the company says it has already purchased and put into service three additional injection-molding machines in the new building, and it projects a 20% increase in productive capacity—not actual production output—as a result.

The expansion was also covered by Plastics News, which reported on the company's new 25,000-square-foot molding facility in Indiana as part of its broader expansion plans.

Local Leaders Welcome New Neighbor

Chuck McElwee, president of the Bainbridge Town Council board, attended the opening to welcome the company to town. McElwee said he looked forward to Exhibit A Plastics being a good community partner and neighbor, per the Sun-Commercial's reporting from the event.

The Bainbridge opening fits into a wider pattern of injection-molding manufacturers investing in bigger facilities and more jobs. In Ohio, Superior Plastics is putting more than $5 million into expanding its Logan County operations, a project expected to create 25 new jobs on top of the 133 positions already in place, according to a release from Columbus Region. That expansion includes purchasing and renovating a larger facility in Bellefontaine, and comes a few years after Superior Plastics merged with Majestic Plastics in 2023 and became a 100% employee-owned company serving the automotive, medical, infant-care and construction industries.

For now, Exhibit A Plastics is focused on settling into its new Bainbridge home and filling out its roster. With new machinery running and a hiring push underway, the company's leadership appears to be betting that the move from Coatesville will pay off in both capacity and community goodwill.
