Battle of the Badges Indy is an annual hockey game in which first responders compete. The event has been described as a fundraiser.
The event is at the fairgrounds, located at 1202 E. 38th St. in Indianapolis.
In Beech Grove, Officer Brian Elliott was killed in the line of duty. WRTV reported in February that Elliott left behind a wife and family, and police organizations across the region mobilized in response to his death.
Getting In the Door
Fox59 describes the annual event as a hockey game in which first responders compete.
A May 20 date is listed for the event, but it is unclear whether it refers to a past or separate event.
An Earlier Matchup
A Battle of the Badges game previously took place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, where local police officers and firefighters played in 2022. That earlier matchup shows the event has appeared at the fairgrounds before.
