Indianapolis is starting Saturday with clear skies and chilly fall air, but sunshine will push temperatures toward 69 degrees by afternoon. Rain is not expected, making for a bright weekend across the city and a sharp break from wetter, more humid weather.
Sunny Weekend Brings A Gentle Warm-Up
Saturday night will stay mostly clear with a low near 47 degrees, while Sunday should be sunnier and warmer, reaching about 74 degrees. Winds will remain light, generally coming from the northeast to north at less than 10 mph.
The mild stretch continues Monday and Tuesday, with sunny highs near 68 degrees and a cooler Monday night dipping to around 42. By Wednesday through Friday, afternoon temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-to-upper 70s, including highs near 77 on Thursday and Friday, according to the National Weather Service Indianapolis.
Dry Air Could Raise Fire-Weather Concerns
The forecast remains dry through the week, with no meaningful rain chances and clear or mostly clear skies dominating the outlook. The National Weather Service said afternoon humidity could fall into the 30% range or lower on several days, so residents should use extra care with outdoor burning, grills and anything that could spark a fire.
No watches, warnings or advisories are in effect for the Indianapolis area. Forecasters are also watching for a low chance of patchy frost in outlying areas northeast of the city late Monday night into Tuesday morning, though widespread frost is not expected.
