A month after quietly opening its doors, Nothing Bundt Cakes at 3052 Columbus Center is throwing a full week of grand-opening festivities starting Monday, with designated-day buy-one-get-one Bundtlet offers, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a chance for the first 50 guests ages 18 and over to get a year's worth of free cake. The bakery first opened on Sept. 12, and now it is inviting the community in for what it's calling a proper celebration.
The week kicks off with four days of Community Appreciation Days, according to The Republic. Healthcare workers get a free Bundtlet with the purchase of one on Monday, teachers and school staff get the same deal Tuesday, first responders and military members are up Wednesday, and city employees close out the run on Thursday. Anyone hoping to cash in needs to bring a badge, ID or uniform to prove eligibility.
Ribbon-Cutting and a Day for Local Schools
Thursday doesn't just belong to city employees. At 4:30 p.m. that same day, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce will join the Nothing Bundt Cakes team for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the bakery's formal welcome into the local business community.
Friday shifts the focus to education, with the bakery holding a Bartholomew Consolidated School Foundation Benefit Day. The shop will donate 20% of that day's sales to benefit BCSC schools, giving the celebration a charitable bent beyond the free samples earlier in the week.
A Shot at Free Cake for a Year
The grand-opening week wraps up Saturday with its biggest giveaway: the first 50 guests ages 18 and over will walk away with a Free Bundtlets for a Year punch card. That card can be redeemed for one Bundtlet per month for 12 months at the Columbus bakery, meaning the earliest arrivals could be snacking on free cake well into 2027.
The bakery, owned by franchisee Bradley Paxton, is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Paxton also serves as vice president of the Association of Taco John's Franchisees, according to an earlier report from The Republic.
What's on the Menu
Beyond the grand-opening promotions, the shop's regular lineup includes full-sized bundt cakes, themed cakes for special events and mini Bundtlets in several flavors, all finished with cream cheese frosting, per the earlier Republic report. The brand's official Columbus bakery page notes that customers can choose from more than 60 handcrafted cake designs.
The Columbus shop is part of a broader push into the region, with Nothing Bundt Cakes locations also in development in Evansville, Bloomington and Muncie, the earlier report noted. For now, though, the attention is on Columbus Center, where designated-day buy-one-get-one Bundtlet offers, a ribbon-cutting and a shot at twelve months of free cake are available to the first 50 guests ages 18 and over.
