Multiple lanes on DuSable Lake Shore Drive were closed as a result.

A Stretch of Road With a Troubled Recent History
This is not the first serious incident to strike this corridor in recent months. A 20-year-old motorcyclist died after losing control and hitting a barrier before being struck by another vehicle on DuSable Lake Shore Drive in Lincoln Park, the same outlet's report on that earlier crash noted.
Just weeks ago, on September 28, a wrong-way, head-on collision in the 4000 block of the drive's northbound lanes killed a 35-year-old woman, according to NBC Chicago. That crash happened at about 11:21 p.m., and the driver of the white sedan was transported to a hospital in critical condition before she was later pronounced dead. The driver of the black SUV involved, a man, was not injured and was taken into custody, NBC Chicago reported. All northbound lanes between 47th Street and Oakwood Boulevard were shut down as of 5:30 a.m. that night and did not reopen until shortly after 8:30 a.m.
Other Recent Lake Shore Drive Collisions
Separately, a crash near Soldier Field left one person dead and four others injured, per the Chicago Sun-Times. In that incident, a driver traveling in the 2500 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive lost control around 2:20 a.m., crashing into a pole before striking a median, the newspaper reported. Two lanes were closed following that crash but have since reopened.
No further details have been released about Monday's crash near Fullerton Avenue, including the patient's hospital or updated condition. Hoodline will update this story as more information becomes available.
