A new Dairy Queen Grill & Chill is set to open Monday at 3402 Tittabawassee Road in Kochville Township, in front of the Meijer store near Bay Road. The 2,747-square-foot restaurant will run from 10:30 a.m. to midnight once doors open, and it sits less than a half-mile west of the new Raising Cane's that debuted along the same corridor last month.

The new Kochville Township store gives shoppers and Saginaw Valley State University students a place to make a Blizzard run.

Raising Cane's Opens Nearby

The Dairy Queen's new neighbor, Raising Cane's, opened its 2,823-square-foot restaurant at 5015 Bay Road on September 8. Grand opening crowds began forming as early as 7:30 a.m. for promotional giveaways, and the Kochville Township planning commission had unanimously approved the site plan before the former store was demolished. Hoodline previously reported on Cane's national rollout schedule that included the Saginaw debut.

Raising Cane's opening day also drew a demonstration from animal rights organization PETA, which staged a protest along the sidewalk at the corner of Bay and Tittabawassee roads over poultry consumption, as seen in footage posted to YouTube.

The Bay-Tittabawassee Corridor

Both restaurants are located along the Bay-Tittabawassee corridor.

More Chains Keep Arriving Along Tittabawassee Road

The Dairy Queen and Raising Cane's openings are part of a broader wave reshaping the corridor. Franchise owner Ansara Restaurant Group is converting the former Logan's Roadhouse at 2697 Tittabawassee Road into Saginaw County's first Red Robin by late 2026, a project Hoodline covered back in May after Logan's closed at the site in August 2025.
