Edmond Police are asking anyone who recognizes a man allegedly connected to an ongoing investigation at a 7-Eleven near Danforth Road and Santa Fe Avenue to come forward. Officers have not released details about what exactly happened at the store, only that detectives want to identify the man as part of their inquiry.
According to KFOR, the Edmond Police Department is seeking public help identifying the man and is asking anyone with information to call 405-359-4487. The convenience store at the center of the investigation sits at 1251 N. Santa Fe Ave., according to StoreLocators.
A trespassing report also concerned the same 7-Eleven, according to CrimeRadar.
Other Nearby Incidents
The surrounding area has seen more serious incidents as well. Just over a week ago, Edmond officers responded to an altercation in a nearby McDonald's parking lot and arrested a 16-year-old accused of threatening another youth with a machete close to Santa Fe High School, prompting the school to briefly go into secure mode — a case Hoodline detailed at the time.
In September, the same corridor was the scene of a far graver case. Police investigated a fatal shooting in the 1100 block of Lapwing Road, which led to the arrest of an 11-year-old girl on a second-degree murder charge in the death of her 15-year-old brother. Detectives withheld personal identifying details in that case in accordance with statutory protections for juveniles.
How To Submit A Tip
Beyond the direct police line, residents have other ways to pass along information. The Edmond Police Department also runs a Text-A-Tip program, allowing people to anonymously text information to 405-625-8398 rather than call, according to the City of Edmond. Anonymous tipsters who go through the department's Crime Tip program receive a tracking number and can call back every two weeks to check whether their tip qualifies for a cash reward.
Crime Stoppers of Oklahoma City also lists a phone number for submitting tips and says anonymity is protected for its web tip system, per Oklahoma City Crime Stoppers.
As of now, investigators have not disclosed the specific nature of the allegations tied to the man they're trying to identify at the Santa Fe Avenue store, and anyone with information is urged to call detectives at 405-359-4487.
