Indianapolis is getting a very un-October-like Monday: clear skies near 55 degrees early, a high around 86, and another shot at 90-degree heat Tuesday before storms and a sharp cooldown take over.
Fog Gives Way To A Warm, Sunny Monday
Patchy fog may affect some early travel, especially east and southeast of the city, but it should fade after daybreak. The National Weather Service in Indianapolis expects mostly sunny skies Monday, with southwesterly winds of 3 to 10 mph and gusts up to 22 mph.
Tuesday Peaks Before Storms Move In
Tuesday looks even warmer, with sunshine and a high near 90 as southwest winds gust as high as 24 mph. A chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives late Tuesday night, then expands quickly Wednesday, when rain and thunderstorms are expected much of the day with a 90% chance of precipitation and rainfall totals between a quarter and half an inch.
Cooler, Windier Weather Arrives Friday
Showers and thunderstorms remain likely Wednesday night and Thursday, with Thursday bringing a high near 76 and a 70% chance of rain. The pattern turns sharply cooler Friday, when temperatures top out near 62 and northwest winds could gust to 35 mph. Sunshine returns Saturday, but the low may fall to around 36 Saturday night, making frost possible in parts of central Indiana before a milder, sunny Sunday near 64.
