Chick-fil-A fans in Hixson have a new address to learn. The restaurant formerly known as Chick-fil-A Oak Park Town Center closed its doors on Thursday and is set to reopen Tuesday, November 3, as Chick-fil-A Hixson, with a new building, a faster drive-thru and an indoor playground for kids.
New Address, New Features on Highway 153
The relocated restaurant sits at 5979 Highway 153, according to WDEF, which reported the reopening date. The address is also listed on Chick-fil-A’s official location page. The move comes after the original Oak Park Town Center restaurant shut its doors on Thursday, October 29.
The new building is designed around speeding up service for Hixson’s drive-thru crowd. WDEF reports the location has a dual-lane drive-thru meant to increase capacity and improve service speed, along with Mobile Thru, a dedicated lane for customers who place orders ahead through the Chick-fil-A app. Outdoor canopies have also been added for face-to-face ordering, intended to shield guests and team members from the elements, the station notes.
More Seats, a Playground and Added Parking
Inside, the restaurant gets a refresh too. WDEF reports the new Chick-fil-A Hixson features updated décor, more than 100 dining seats and an indoor playground for younger guests. The station also notes additional parking spots designed to accommodate more guests at once.
Hours will stay largely consistent with what regulars expect from a Chick-fil-A, per the station’s report. The dining room is set to run 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Saturday, while the drive-thru will operate 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Owner Reflects on More Than Four Decades in Hixson
Local owner-operator Kirstein has run Chick-fil-A of Hixson and called the move a milestone after four decades serving the community. Kirstein said serving Hixson for 41 years has been a privilege, expressing gratitude for community support and saying they look forward to welcoming guests at the new restaurant, according to the same report.
The relocation has prompted discussion about why Chick-fil-A is moving.
As of now, Chick-fil-A’s own location page lists no open positions at the Hixson restaurant. Hixson residents eager to try out the new dining room, playground or faster drive-thru lanes will get their first chance Tuesday.
