Indianapolis starts Halloween under a blanket of clouds, but the day should stay mild with temperatures climbing from the mid-50s to near 68 degrees. Rain is not expected to be a major spoiler for Saturday plans, although the forecast gets noticeably wetter as the new week unfolds.
The National Weather Service gives Saturday only a slight chance of precipitation, with east-southeast winds around 6 to 9 mph. A few sprinkles or very light showers cannot be ruled out, but most daytime outdoor plans should remain dry.
Cloudy Halloween Before Showers Creep In
Saturday night stays cloudy with a low around 53 and a 20% chance of rain showers before early Sunday morning. Showers are possible overnight and into Sunday morning, with a high in the lower 60s and rainfall totals expected to remain below a tenth of an inch.
The outlook is a substantive update to Hoodline's earlier Halloween forecast, with the wetter pattern now looking more persistent into the middle of next week. Sunday night should turn mostly cloudy again, with only a slight chance of showers and a low near 52.
Warmer, Windier Weather Arrives Tuesday
Monday stays mild with a high near 67 and a 40% chance of showers, while south-southeast winds could gust to 23 mph. Tuesday may be the warmest day of the stretch, reaching around 74 degrees with south winds around 13 mph.
Rain chances rise Tuesday afternoon and become more likely Tuesday night into Wednesday, when showers are expected to be likely and temperatures remain unusually mild for early November. Wednesday could reach 70 degrees before the pattern gradually turns cooler, with additional shower chances Thursday and Friday.
No watches, warnings or advisories are in effect for Indianapolis. For Halloween, the practical forecast is simple: bring a light layer for the clouds, keep an umbrella nearby for later, and enjoy the relatively dry window while it lasts.
