Knoxville is waking up Monday near 60 degrees under mostly clear skies, with patchy fog giving way to sunshine and a high near 80. The warm, dry stretch will last through Thursday before a weak front brings a sharp turn toward chilly fall weather this weekend.
Warm, Dry Stretch Holds Through Thursday
Fog should thin by late Monday morning, leaving mostly sunny skies and light southwest winds. The National Weather Service expects another round of patchy fog before 9 a.m. Tuesday, followed by sunshine and a high near 85.
Wednesday and Thursday look like the warmest days of the week, with sunny skies and highs near 86. Overnight lows will stay mild, around 60 to 65 degrees, making this the easiest stretch for outdoor plans before the forecast takes a decidedly less summery turn.
Friday Starts The Weekend Turn
Friday remains mostly sunny and warm, with a high near 80. Rain chances are low late Friday into Saturday, with very little rainfall expected from the front.
The bigger change arrives Friday night, when temperatures fall to around 46 degrees, as colder air moves into the Tennessee Valley.
Fall Arrives By Saturday Morning
Saturday will be mostly sunny but much cooler, with a high near 63. Saturday night could dip to around 40 degrees, followed by a sunny Sunday near 68.
The weekend shift is a substantial update from Sunday's earlier Hoodline forecast, which focused on showers clearing before a warm workweek. The broader outlook now includes a risk of widespread frost in parts of East Tennessee, especially north of Knoxville, so gardeners may want to protect tender plants before Saturday night.
No watches, warnings or advisories are in effect for Knoxville. Drivers should still use extra caution during the next few foggy mornings, particularly around sunrise and in low-lying areas.
