Malcolm Todd is heading back to the Bay Area, and anyone hoping to catch him at Oakland's Fox Theater will need to already have a ticket. The Fox Theater lists both of the singer-songwriter's scheduled Oakland performances as sold out, with the venue's event page declaring simply: “Two Nights! Sold Out!”
A Sold-Out Homecoming of Sorts
According to thefoxoakland.com, the shows are open to all ages, and fans with tickets can pay an additional fee to upgrade into the venue's exclusive Telegraph Room before, during and after the concert, subject to availability. The venue also cautions that door and show times are subject to change. The Fox Theater sits at 1807 Telegraph Ave. in Oakland, a stop that places Todd back in the region just months after he first played the Bay Area as part of a national festival run.
The Oakland dates are part of Todd's 2026 Do That Again tour, which he announced following the release of his album of the same name, as reported by USA Today. Per that same account, the tour opened with festival appearances in August before headlining shows began in September, and USA Today's published schedule lists an Oct. 21 date for Todd at Oakland's Fox Theater. A listing on AXS separately identifies a second Oakland performance the following night, though that detail carries lower confidence than the rest of the schedule. The tour is slated to wrap at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre on Oct. 28.
From Golden Gate Park to the Fox Theater
Todd's path back to Oakland runs through San Francisco's Outside Lands Music Festival, where USA Today's tour itinerary placed him on Aug. 8 at Golden Gate Park. The following day, the Daily Bruin reported that the Los Angeles singer-songwriter performed on the festival's Twin Peaks stage, delivering a set that blended energetic bedroom pop with softer, soulful R&B. As the Daily Bruin noted, Todd's sister, singer-songwriter Audrey Hobert, joined him onstage for a performance of her song “Phoebe.”
The sibling pairing is more than a one-off cameo. The Guardian's profile of the two musicians describes Hobert, 27, and her younger brother, 22, as both having stormed the charts in parallel this year. Per the Guardian, Todd's song “Earrings” reached a peak of No. 16 in the United Kingdom and No. 20 in the United States, building on a career that includes a 2024 mixtape, Sweet Boy, released after he signed with Columbia Records.
A Brand Ambassador in Demand
Todd's visibility beyond music venues has grown too. The Guardian's profile notes that he appeared in a Gap advertisement covering Robyn's “Dancing on My Own,” part of the brand's broader embrace of rising pop talent. The San Francisco Chronicle, which first reported on the sold-out Oakland run, adds that Todd also appeared in a fall Gap campaign alongside Inde Navarrette, released in August.
As the Chronicle's Zara Irshad detailed in the original report on the Oakland concerts, Todd has been branded a Gen Z crooner working in the bedroom pop, or lo-fi, genre — a label that tracks with the sound reviewers described at Outside Lands. The San Francisco Chronicle frames the Fox Theater dates as Todd returning to the Bay Area as part of his ongoing tour behind Do That Again, essentially trying to do that again after the splash he made at his festival debut.
For now, Bay Area fans without tickets are out of luck at the Fox Theater box office, with the venue's own listing leaving no ambiguity about availability. Whether more shows materialize as the Do That Again tour heads toward its scheduled Los Angeles finale remains to be seen.
