A new quick-service restaurant is moving into the former Checker's building on N. Bolingbrook Drive, with plans to serve up Philly cheesesteaks, gyros, wings, fish, sandwiches and rice bowls under one roof. Moe and Sam's Gyros and Philly has filed for a building permit at 439 N. Bolingbrook Drive, at the former Checker's location.
According to Patch, the new business will be located at the former Checker's location, and the restaurant will offer Philly cheesesteaks, fish, wings, sandwiches, gyros and rice bowls. The menu points to a blend of Greek and American comfort food, a combination that appears to be new to that stretch of Bolingbrook, as WhatNow Chicago describes it as the first concept of its kind in the area.
Where the New Spot Will Sit
The address places the restaurant on the west side of N. Bolingbrook Drive, in front of Indian Oaks Plaza, near the Boughton Road intersection on the north side of town, per WhatNow Chicago. The same building reportedly also houses FH Jerkgod and Nutrition Healthy Life, putting Moe and Sam's in a stretch with a few other food and lifestyle businesses already operating nearby.
Owner Hussam Salaymeh is behind the new concept, according to the outlet's reporting. Rice bowls at the restaurant are expected to come topped with a choice of proteins, vegetables and sauces, rounding out the menu for the quick-service concept.
No Firm Opening Date Yet
Patch's reporting on the permit filing noted that no opening date was given yet. WhatNow Chicago reported that Salaymeh is still waiting on final approvals and building inspections before an opening date can be confirmed, and that he hopes to open around the end of November or December, per that outlet's account.
Salaymeh has described the forthcoming restaurant with a simple pitch, posting “Good food, bigger flavor” on Facebook, according to WhatNow Chicago. The restaurant is expected to be a quick-service restaurant for the area, the outlet reported, citing a village post, and more information is expected to be shared on social media as the opening gets closer.
