A South Salt Lake Police Department Facebook post concerns Janae White.
Police said she wore a black jacket and white/neon Nike Jordan shoes. The department has not released a photo or the location where she was last seen. It has not announced an update to its initial notice.
What a clearinghouse listing can show
Utah’s Bureau of Criminal Identification says a Missing Person Waiver Form must be completed by the person seeking to add information to the state’s online Missing Person Clearinghouse. That submission requirement does not establish whether White is listed; people with information about her should follow South Salt Lake police’s instructions and contact the department.
National records provide a broader, but not local, measure: the FBI reported 88,093 active missing-person records in the National Crime Information Center as of Dec. 31, 2025. During 2025, 498,038 records were entered and 503,409 were purged. The FBI says records may be removed when a person is located, returns home or an agency determines the record is invalid. These are database records, not a count of people currently missing in Utah, and they do not indicate White’s status.
A separate advisory case
ABC4 reported that an Endangered Missing Advisory for a man last seen in West Valley City was canceled after he was located safely on June 10, 2026. That was a separate case; it does not show whether an advisory was requested for White.
Local support resources
Separately, South Salt Lake lists a shelter hotline at 801-990-9999, a housing crisis line at 801-359-2444 and 2-1-1 for other resources on its Homeless Services page. These are community resources; information about White should be directed to police at the number above.
