Salt Lake City woke Thursday to clear skies and a crisp morning near 55 degrees, but the afternoon will feel more like late summer than early October. Sunshine will push temperatures toward 79 degrees, setting up a warm, dry stretch that peaks with an 87-degree Sunday.
Thursday afternoon should stay sunny with light northwest winds of 1 to 5 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Skies will remain mostly clear Thursday night, with temperatures dipping to about 54 degrees before Friday brings another round of sunshine and a high near 84.
Warmest Days Arrive This Weekend
Friday night will turn partly cloudy, with a mild low around 61 degrees. Saturday looks mostly sunny with a high near 85, while Sunday should be sunny and warmer, reaching about 87 degrees with light winds.
The outlook is slightly warmer than the forecast highlighted in Hoodline’s earlier update, especially for Sunday. That makes the weekend a good window for patios, parks and late-season outdoor plans, though the strongest afternoon sun will still call for water and shade.
Dry Weather Holds Into Next Week
Monday is expected to remain mostly sunny with a high near 84 degrees, followed by a sunny Tuesday near 82. Rain chances in the valley stay close to zero through Sunday, with only a minimal chance early next week as a weak system could bring isolated showers mainly to higher terrain and southern Utah.
No watches, warnings or advisories are posted for the Salt Lake City area. The broader pattern favors mild, dry weather through the first week of October, with cool mornings and warm afternoons becoming the daily routine.
