San Francisco gets a bright, mild Wednesday, but the Bay’s high tide is the real weather story: low-lying shoreline areas could see minor flooding around midday. Sunshine pushes city readings to near 65 degrees.
High Tide Could Put Water Over The Edges
A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect through 6 p.m. Saturday for parts of San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay and Monterey Bay, with up to 1.9 feet of water above ground possible in the most vulnerable spots, according to the National Weather Service. The San Francisco gauge is expected to reach high tide around 12:56 p.m. Wednesday, at about 1.9 feet above normal.
That could mean water around low-lying infrastructure, isolated road closures and additional coastal erosion rather than a citywide flood emergency. Drivers should allow extra time, avoid barricades and never drive through water of unknown depth, especially near bayfront roads and tidal channels.
Sunny Afternoon, Cooler Halloween Weekend
Wednesday has lingering high clouds and a gentle onshore push. Thursday reaches around 63, while Friday is near 59.
Halloween falls Saturday. Sunday returns to sunshine near 64, with another mostly sunny day near 67 Monday; rain chances remain uncertain early to midweek.
The latest outlook keeps the shoreline concern in place through Saturday, extending the timeframe covered in Hoodline’s earlier forecast. Inland San Francisco should stay mostly dry, but waterfront plans will require a little more attention to tide levels and changing road conditions.
