San Francisco is heading into a sunny Monday with a high near 65 degrees, but the day comes with gusty west winds and a Coastal Flood Advisory for low-lying shoreline areas. The city stays dry through Thursday before temperatures slide and rain chances return just in time for Halloween weekend.
Sunny Monday Comes With A Bayshore Warning
The National Weather Service has a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect through 3 p.m. Thursday for vulnerable areas near San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay, Monterey Bay and the Pacific coast. The San Francisco gauge could reach 1.9 feet above normal on Wednesday, October 28. High tides could create risks for isolated road closures, flooded infrastructure and coastal erosion.
At the San Francisco tidal gauge, high tide is expected around 11:39 a.m. Monday, with tides running about 1.6 feet above normal. Drivers and pedestrians near the waterfront should allow extra time, avoid barricades and never travel through water of unknown depth.
Cooler, Breezier Weather Takes Over
Monday afternoon will be sunny, with west winds increasing from roughly 5 to 15 mph and gusts reaching up to 22 mph. Monday night will be mostly clear with a low near 53, while Tuesday brings mostly sunny skies and a high around 64.
Wednesday should remain sunny near 65 degrees, followed by a partly sunny Thursday with a high near 63. The forecast then turns noticeably cooler Friday, when San Francisco may top out around 59 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
Halloween Weekend Could Get Damp
Rain chances remain in the forecast for Halloween weekend, though the timing and details remain uncertain.
The weekend outlook remains uncertain following Hoodline's earlier weekend forecast, so waterfront plans should account for both elevated tides and possible rain.
