The Greatest Show on Earth is pitching its tent in Rosemont this weekend, as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey brings its animal-free reboot to Allstate Arena for seven performances running Friday through Sunday. The production leans on acrobats, trapeze artists and a live DJ rather than elephants or lions, and it's bringing along a seventh-generation daredevil who's made a name for himself well beyond the big top.
According to Choose Chicago, the run spans Friday, November 6, through Sunday, November 8, and is billed as a high-tech, animal-free spectacle featuring world-class acrobats, trapeze artists and a live DJ. Each performance also includes a DJ-led pre-show that starts 30 minutes before showtime and is included with admission, the listing notes. All guests ages 2 and older need a ticket to get in, per the same source. As Axios reported, the show features Bello Nock, the Flying Caceres and other international performers, runs about two hours, and folds in a Latin dance group, an eclectic soundtrack and a light show alongside the acrobatics.
Bello Nock Joins the Rosemont Dates
The marquee attraction for local audiences is Bello Nock, whose spiky hair and gravity-defying stunts have made him a recognizable face even to non-circus fans. The Allstate Arena event listing specifically advertises Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey with special guest Bello Nock, and Feld Entertainment describes him as a seventh-generation circus performer known to some from America's Got Talent, a detail Axios also notes in its coverage.
WGN-TV reports that Nock is making special guest appearances at the Rosemont shows November 6 through 8. Per Feld Entertainment, Nock joins the tour as a special guest performer through December 2026, excluding California engagements — meaning Chicago-area fans catching him this weekend are seeing him during an active, limited stretch of his run with the company.
From Shutdown to Reboot
This version of the circus looks nothing like the one that closed in 2017. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey ceased operations that year after nearly 150 years amid declining ticket sales, according to National Geographic, which also points to a 2019 poll finding that most Americans felt circus animals weren't treated well, with more than half of respondents favoring a ban on wild animals in circus performances. Axios adds that, per the New York Times, the old show had become infeasible as video games and cellphone screens competed to provide childhood wonder.
Feld Entertainment, which owns Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, revived the show in 2023 and took the retooled production to more than 50 cities, according to Axios. The reimagined version ditched animals altogether in favor of a greater emphasis on storytelling and stunts, a shift SILive also documented, describing the revived show as a music-driven production that showcases human performance, storytelling and global artistry. SILive's February reporting put the scale of that production at 65 performers from 17 countries, and noted the 2026 tour's earlier stops included UBS Arena near Belmont Park, New York, from March 6 to 8, and the Prudential Center in Newark from March 19 to 22, with tickets for those dates starting around $35.
Tickets, Parking and Practical Details
Axios reports starting ticket prices of $30 for the Chicago-area run, with children ages 2 through 12 able to buy $20 tickets alongside the purchase of an adult ticket. Separately, a Kidlist event listing advertises $20 kids tickets for the Rosemont dates, though it does not specify an age range or confirm an adult-ticket requirement.
Parking details carry some conflicting information. Axios reports that Allstate Arena offers free parking for ticket holders, a claim echoed by Kidlist's listing that parking is free with ticket purchase. However, a separate Allstate Arena event-page snippet states a parking fee of $25, payable by cash or credit card. Anyone driving to the show may want to confirm current parking costs directly with the venue before heading out.
The circus performs at Allstate Arena, located at 6920 N Mannheim Road in Rosemont, according to Time Out Chicago. With multiple performances scheduled Friday through Sunday, families have several chances to catch the show before it moves on to its next stop.
