A 42-year-old Rockville man was arrested Friday on a preliminary charge of possessing child sexual abuse material and booked into the Parke County Jail. Police say the investigation into Dustin Keith has stretched on for months and is still active.
Keith was taken into custody and booked into the Parke County Jail on Friday, according to WTHI-TV, which first reported the arrest. The station reported that police said the investigation lasted months and remains ongoing, though no additional details about the evidence or next steps have been released.
Three Agencies Worked the Case
The Rockville Police Department, the Parke County Sheriff’s Office and the Crawfordsville Police Department all conducted the investigation, per the station’s report. That kind of multi-agency cooperation has shown up before in Parke County child exploitation cases, including one from this past summer involving a Rosedale man.
In that earlier case, the article notes that Rockville police arrested the Rosedale man on 20 counts tied to possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material, after a search warrant executed in Rosedale turned up evidence leading to his arrest. Additional charges were considered possible in that matter, which involved 10 counts of possession, a Level 4 felony, and 10 counts of distribution, a Level 3 felony. That joint investigation pulled in the Parke County Sheriff’s Office, the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, the Terre Haute and West Terre Haute police departments, the Vigo County High Tech Crimes Unit and Indiana State Police.
Statewide Push Against Online Predators
Keith’s arrest comes months after Indiana State Police organized and led a statewide operation targeting online predators. According to WBIW, Operation Guardian Angel ran from August 1 through August 31, 2026, and generated 237 reactive investigations stemming from citizen complaints or CyberTips.
The same report found that Indiana received 1,653 CyberTips in August alone and 16,643 between January and August 2026. During that stretch, the operation identified 41 children newly found in abuse imagery and another 47 newly identified children without images, underscoring the scale of the problem investigators statewide are confronting.
WTHI-TV’s report on Keith’s arrest notes that the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, led by Indiana State Police, accepts reports of crimes involving a child victim.
