Police converged on Conestoga Park Apartments in Beaverton around 11:30 a.m. Thursday after getting a report of an armed robbery, and the search that followed ended with four minors in handcuffs and three Tigard schools placed into lockout. The suspects and the victim were all teenagers, and officers say the group made its way south from the apartment complex into Tigard before officers began searching for them.

Officers were sent to the complex at 9900 SW Conestoga Drive after the robbery call came in, according to KOIN. Police said the suspects and the victim, who are all minors, had made their way to Tigard, prompting a coordinated search effort across jurisdictions. KPTV reported that the suspects were described as two boys and two girls who headed south into Tigard following the alleged robbery.

Lockouts Hit Three Schools During the Search

As officers worked to track down the group, Fowler Middle School, Mary Woodward Elementary School, and Charles F. Tigard Elementary School were all placed into lockout, the same KOIN report states. A lockout typically keeps students inside while allowing normal activity to continue indoors, a precaution schools use when police are searching the surrounding area for people who may still be armed.

Police brought in K9 units and drone teams to help locate the four teens, per the KOIN report. The search eventually led investigators to a specific area near Southwest Walnut Street and Southwest 121st Avenue, where, according to the station's report, the four teenagers were found hiding inside an abandoned house.

All Four Taken Into Custody

All four suspects were found inside the home and taken into custody, the outlet reported. KPTV similarly reported that the teens were taken into custody without incident once officers located them in Tigard.

Beaverton police said the investigation is continuing, and the department asked anyone with information about the incident to call 503-526-2280.
